At Cool Earth Creamery, we're taking a stand against unnecessary packaging and waste.

At Cool Earth Creamery, we spend as much time thinking about our packaging as we do the product we put into it.  We believe that responsibility for our packaging should not end once the product leaves our doors.

“Montanans generate nearly 66 percent more waste (7.26 pounds per day) than the national average (4.38 pounds)”.

Cool Earth Creamery's Glass Recycling Program

Rinse, Return, Repeat

At Cool Earth Creamery we spend as much time thinking about how to reduce waste and minimize our manufacturing footprint as we do on how to make great plant-based milks. Like our customers, Cool Earth Creamery is deeply concerned about the accumulation of plastics and other non-recyclables in the environment. And we want to do something about it by offering our products in 100% reusable glass containers. Aside from just looking and feeling cool, glass has an endless recycling life, it preserves the flavor of milk, and it reduces ingestion of packaging-derived chemicals. But we need your help and support to make our program work.

At Cool Earth Creamery, we are committed to the belief that the ethical choice can also be the pleasurable choice.  Enjoy!

Compostable Packaging

At Cool Earth Creamery, we spend as much time thinking about our packaging as we do the product we put into it.  We believe that responsibility for our packaging should not end once the product leaves our doors.  Which is why we searched far and wide for that perfect container that was sturdy, elegant, certified plastic-free, 100% backyard compostable, and made in the USA (to ensure integrity and quality control). Our containers are paper-based and coated with a plastic-free aqueous liner designed to withstand extreme temperatures but sensitive to extended exposure to moisture. The material used to make these containers have been evaluated by Flustix - an accredited third-party European certification body.  Their goal is to enable both consumers and businesses to make informed and conscious purchasing decisions. This promotes sustainable innovations in plastic usage at all levels and supports the development of environmentally responsible solutions.

So about those plastic lids ... we get it.

Although our lids are recyclable, Cool Earth Creamery hoped to avoid the use of any type of plastic in our product. We tried long and hard to find metal caps for our bottles as well as the equipment needed to properly seal the bottles. Unfortunately, according to our bottle supplier, the use of metal caps is becoming obsolete. There are several reasons for this. The primary reason is due to food safety (ensuring a proper seal, maintaining a low oxygen environment to limit bacterial growth, and keeping the product tamper-resistant).

Though we have yet to find our ideal cap, Cool Earth Creamery is committed to finding packaging that is both sustainable and meets the highest food safety standards.
